I hope all of you had a wonderful and prosperous 2012 and hope things go even better for you in 2013. They have for me!
Many of my clients like to receive a tax organizer, a multi-page document which details out items of income and deductions. It has space for you to write in Year 2012 amounts and it will be populated with your 2011 tax information. If you would like a copy sent to you, please call or email and specify if you would like:
1) A paper copy mailed to you, or
2) A PDF copy emailed to you.
I am sure many of you have heard that the Internal Revenue Service has pushed back the date they can start accepting e-filed Form 1040 (Individual Income Tax) returns. Originally they're supposed to be ready by January 17th. But with the recent changes the government finally passed, the date got pushed back to the 22nd and now the 30th of January. Please note, this is for 1040 returns only.
At the moment, the IRS is not sure when they will be able to start accepting e-filed business returns (1120, 1120S, 1065) and trusts (1041). Additionally, there are several forms which will not be completed, accepted and released until February or March. Two of these forms are Depreciation & Amortization (4562) and Alternative Minimum Tax (6251). They are necessary for some of my 1040 filers who are in AMT or have a sole proprietorship (Schedule C) business.
But don't let the IRS' delayed schedule delay yours! When you have your tax info ready for me, shoot me an email or give me a call so we can set up a time for you to drop off your info, email or mail it to me.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for trusting me with your taxes & I'll see you all soon!
